World Map

Today Lauren brought home her World Map from Montessori. It is poking work which means that they must use a "poker" to poke around each country. It takes the kids a long time to do the map and is a huge accomplishment when they complete it.

Lauren's 2 Fish

Last night Lauren and I went to Walmart so that she could spend some of her Christmas money that Nanny #2 gave her. She carried around her purse like a little lady. She picked out 2 fish, a neon cave and neon rocks for the fish tank. When we got them home, we set up the tank on her table in the den. While feeding the fish I asked her what she named her fish. She said, "Micah and Amos".

These boots are made for walking....

Yesterday while I was in Columbus, I found Lauren a pair of red patten leather boots. When I brought them home she immediately ripped off her pj's and put the boots on. She wanted to sleep with them on. This morning she was so excited to wear them to school and show her boyfriend Micah. Oh the excitement!!

Olivia's Bikini

Olivia is obsessed with her pink bikini. If she sees it laying out somewhere she whines until she has it on. On this day she found the bottom part of the bikini. It does not matter what she has on already, she wants us to put it on over her clothes.

What a day!!

Today was Granddaddy's 65th birthday. This morning Lauren and I made him a cake. She said that he wanted a chocolate cake with pink icing and sprinkles.

And......it snowed today!!!! Lauren could not wait to go outside to play in the snow. She loved it! Olivia, on the other hand, did not like it at all. We tried to put her on a sled and she cried when the snow fell on her.

We took the girls outside in the backyard to play and so that Lauren could go sledding down the hill. There is a large hill just on the other side of our fence that ends up right by the tennis courts. She LOVED flying down the hill as you can see in the video.

Lauren also made a snow angel in the backyard.

And she (really I) made a snowman in the front yard. She didn't really like rolling the snow around the yard for the snowman. But she did enjoy giving him stick arms, pinecone eyes and a tennis ball nose.

Good Sleeping...

I took this picture of Lauren in the dark one morning before school. Usually when I tell her it is time to get up she pulls the covers over her head and hides.

Music Class

This afternoon Mommy and Me music class started again. Both girls love it! They especially love using the eggs, sticks and other instruments. Before every class we always have to stop to look at the fish. The girls actually look like they like each other don't they?

Proof that Olivia really does stand

Caught in the Act

This morning while Lauren was getting dressed for school, she kept asking for a piece of cake. Who does not love a piece of cake (especially when that cake was free with a coupon) but at 8:15 in the morning, No Way!! Well, while I was changing Olivia I heard a rustle coming from the kitchen table. I looked in and saw Lauren by the cake. I said, "What are you doing?" She said "Nothing". So I took her picture. Please note the pancake syrup around her mouth and the orange cake sprinkle in the corner of her mouth.

Summer in January

Yesterday the temp. was in the mid 70's after I picked Lauren up from school. It was such a nice day that I took Lauren and Olivia to a local church to feed the ducks. I brought lunch for us also. Of course Olivia ate her lunch and also ate the old stale crackers that I gave her to throw to the ducks.
