Love, marriage and a baby carriage

Lauren apparently is having a baby. She told her boyfriend, Micah, that she had a baby in her tummy. And then Lauren promptly lifted her shirt to show Micah the baby in her belly. I asked her about this and she said yes she was having a baby. Then she lifted up her shirt and grabbed her belly saying, "Oh I feel it moving around in there. Do you see it mom?" I said yes and ran away to laugh in the other room. She started talking about a baby in her belly when we were picking out pictures for her to take to school. I was showing her the pictures when I was pregnant with her and Olivia. I am dying to ask her questions about her "pregnancy" just to see what crazy ideas she comes up with.

Lauren's Montessori Birthday

On Monday I went to Lauren's school to spend the day with her because it was her birthday. That classroom is organized chaos. Almost every child came and asked me who I was and why I was there. And they had to tell me how old they were and about every scrape they had on their body. I tried to take picture of everything that Lauren tells me about school. Miss Audrey helped her trace her hand so she could make a crown to wear for the day.

A couple of her friends helped her color her crown. She was very proud to wear her crown and be the queen for the day.

She had to show me all of her favorite work including the hundred board. Since it was her birthday she was able to ring the bell that tells everyone to "freeze" and begin cleaning up. They all sit around a red line during "line time". Lauren walked around the circle while her friends sang Happy Birthday. She chose the special song to sing and she was the weather person for the day.

The weather person decides what the weather is like outside and then walks around the circle holding the sign that he or she chose. We had to bring 1 picture from every year of her life to show her friends. Lauren walked around the circle with a small tray of 4 candles while her friends sang. She was also the line leader while walking to the playground. Her special snack for the class was pudding cups and she chose two friends to help her pass out the food. This birthday thing is a huge deal in the classroom.

Oh the trills of being weather girl and line leader!

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Today was Lauren's 4th birthday party. We had family come over and of course Micah came over too which Lauren loved. The kids played baseball outside, played in the sandbox and painted tee shirts.

Lauren and Micah had a quick snack outside. Doesn't the happy couple look great?

I made balloon hats for the kids. Here is Olivia modeling one for the camera.

Instead of a huge cake I made star shaped cupcakes. We made our own sundaes with chocolate sprinkles, colored sprinkles, syrup, whipped cream and M&M's. YUM-O.

After everyone left the girls had to show off their bling. I think Olivia's earrings compliment her outfit beautifully.

Boy we accomplished so much today!

Olivia watching Sesame Street this morning.

I painted everyones toes red this afternoon. Yes I am lazy. I did not take off the old polish first. At least they are all one color and not chipped red polish.

Funny sayings

Just some random funny things heard around our house recently

1. Me: "Lauren, please pick the trash up off of the floor."
Lauren: "OK Mama"
Me: "Thank you honey"
Lauren: "Your welcome mama. It was my pleasure."

Now where have I heard that before. Does that mean that we go to Chick fil a too much?

2. Lauren: "OKY742 come in. Over."
"OKY742 come in. Over."

Lauren was playing with her walkie talkies pretending to be Poppy who is a HAM Radio operator. She was desperately trying to get Rapper's parents to call her. For those of you who don't know about Rapper, he is her imaginary friend who only come out every once in a while. She says he is a boy with brown hair and his parents names are Mumbo and Jumbo.

3. Lauren: "Mama please don't give me a mohonk. I don't want a mohonk."

I heard this while I was giving Lauren a bath. She really means mohawk but she says mohonk. I know it is terrible of me but I get her to say it over and over just because I think it is funny.

4. Lauren: "I really need to have some candy now before I go to school because it will give me lots of energy to do all of my work. It will make my muscle grow big and strong."

Does she really think I am going to let her eat candy at 7:30 in the morning?

Morning rituals

There has been a morning ritual forming at our house this week. Lauren and Olivia both get on the couch and play fight with their pj's still on. They both laugh hysterically while they are doing this. I snapped a photo this morning.

Beautiful day for pictures!!

Since we had wonderful weather today we took the girls over to my grandfather's house to take some pictures with his flowers. There were azaleas in every color. It is so hard to get a good picture with the two girls together, but here is what we did get. I think that came out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Playing catch up...

How great is it to wake up and start painting with your pj's still on? I bought this little smock at a consignment sale for 1.00. Lauren loves wearing it while she paints.

Aaron's 34th birthday was last week. Instead of a cake I made chocolate chip cookies and put a candle in the middle. The girls had a great time blowing out the candle....and devouring the cookies.

Just out for a stroll.

The girls let me put ponytails in their hair. Despite how filthy they are, I still think they are cute.

This picture was an accident picture. Olivia loves having her picture taken so I just took it to make her happy. Well, I love it. She looks like a karate fighting ninja with ponytails.
