Lessons

Aaron and I have been teaching the 3 and 4 year old Sunday School class at church. There are between 7 and 10 kids in class. We have had a great time teaching and doing lots of crafts, which I love. The past few weeks we have been learning how to be kind to each other, say your sorry when you are wrong, use your manners, etc. This is all from the Zaccheaus story.

Yesterday Lauren got in trouble for talking back to me. She has been doing that a lot lately so the time out chair gets used frequently. When she was done with time out I make her come tell me what she was doing to get into time out and apologize. After she did this she promptly told me,

"Mom, do you remember what we have been learning in Sunday school? You need to be kind to little girls and not put them in time out. You need to say you are sorry for putting me in time out. Always have good manners."

At least I can say that she has been listening in church.

Fetch

This morning I overheard the girls playing fetch together. Lauren was throwing the ball to Olivia and yelling "Fetch" while Olivia "ran" to get the ball. The sad thing is Olivia was having fun being treated like a dog. Later in the morning this is what I found in Lauren's room.

Pictures and Ponytails

I got this cute picture of the girls while they were waiting to go outside.

Also today Lauren had a ponytail in her hair for school. This is a really big deal. Last week she even wore a clip in her hair at school. Her teachers said that both days she made sure to show all of them that she had a clip and a ponytail in her hair.

Old McDonald's Farm

This weekend we went to the "McDavidson's" birthday party. We had so much fun with the farm animal theme. They had a petting zoo area for the kids which both girls loved.

They also had a small pony for the kids to ride around the play area. Lauren had a hard time standing in line for the pony, but she enjoyed riding the horse.

When the big kids were on the hay ride around the neighborhood, we put Olivia on the horse. Aaron walked around the field helping her ride the horse.

Valentine's Day

Last night Aaron and I celebrated Valentine's Day. My parents watched the girls while Aaron and I went to Newnan for dinner and a movie. When we go out to eat by ourselves we always ask ourselves," Do we have any coupons or gift cards for restaurants". (I hope we aren't the only ones who do that.) Luckily we did have a Olive Garden gift card from Christmas to help with dinner. Dinner was great, especially my Italian Margarita. We also went to see Untraceable which I loved. One the way home Aaron and I discussed our usual romantic date nights. Dinner and a horror film. What else could a girl ask for? For our 7th wedding anniversary we went to dinner and saw Hostel 2. Now if you did not know already I LOVE horror/suspense movies. I can't wait until Saw 5 and Hostel 3 comes out. I will be right there opening weekend when they do. Blood, guts and gore..Bring it on. Can't wait to see what movies come out in July for our 8th anniversary.

No fish

Last night I unfortunately had the opportunity to watch our last fish "Amos" wilt away/swim away with his friends. He floated around the tank and then went into the neon cave and never came out. Maybe this neon cave is sort of like a fish hospice. Both fish have gone there. I think next we are going to try a beta fish. Maybe it will stay alive for more than a few days.

Barbie's clothes

This morning I caught Olivia attempting to try on Barbie's clothes. She got a few toes in the pants but that is it. After she got them in she showed them to me with such pride and excitement.

And then there was one.....

For the past couple of days we have been missing a fish. I kept thinking that it was just hiding in the pretty neon cave. Today I cleaned out the tank and found the little guy. After putting the "well" fish back in the tank I showed Lauren that there was only 1 fish in the tank. I asked her what happened. She said, "Oh no, Micah died! Amos is left." I told her that maybe Micah went to swim with some of his friends. Fish going off to swim with their friends sounds a lot better than "Micah died." I guess that is what we get for buying the .28 cents fish.

Poor Olivia..

She tried to get her bike helmet on correctly, but she just couldn't do it.

Can you feel the love?

This weekend Lauren went to her friend's birthday party. Sarah Grace's party was great. The kids had a blast jumping and playing. The highlight of the party was the fact that Micah, Lauren's boyfriend, was also there. They had a great time playing and they even had to sit next to each other while eating. Here are some photos of the party. Shannon, Micah's mom, took the best photo's of the kids.
